Invited Exhibtion

Pompidou Center

Digital technologies have revolutionized the design and manufacture of objects, transforming the practice of architects, designers, artists. What is the status of the author in the era of the production of “non-standard” objects, both unique and industrially produced? What is the status of this object “printed” in 3D, at once object of the everyday, technological object, work of art, object of design, prototype architecture? How to explain its generalization in the digital age to all areas of production? Described as “disruptive technology”, 3D printing has spread over the last fifteen years on a large scale across open source software platforms and is developing in the industry, from aeronautics to biotechnology. ” (text from Centre Pompirou website)
